Rabbi Mira Rivera

Rabbi in Residence

Rabbi Mira Rivera (she/siya/ella) is the first Filipina-American to be ordained at The Jewish Theological Seminary with an MA in Jewish Studies. She received a BFA in Film at New York University. Rabbi Mira brings compassionate and affirmative listening to her rabbinate as a Board Certified Chaplain with Neshama Association of Jewish Chaplains. Born in Michigan to Filipino immigrant parents, she moved to the Philippines as a child where she developed a love for the arts. Dance brought her back to New York where she danced for the Martha Graham Dance Company and Ensemble under the mentorship of Yuriko. When she is not at LUNAR Collective, she can be found leading monthly JOC-lifting Shabbat services at JCC Harlem in New York City.
