About the Course

To heal from and dismantle the systemic violence of racism we need to cultivate care practices that activate the spiritual resources we have as Jewish People of Color. We need to make both systemic changes as well as individual/communal transformation to challenge and subvert the conditioning of racial hierarchies in our mind and in the habits of our behaviors. Mussar is the Jewish spiritual discipline designed to integrate the head and the heart through daily practice. Dismantling Racism from the Inside Out is a curricular experience that equips participants with daily concrete Jewish spiritual and anti-racist practices to confront, heal and undo implicit and internalized racism within ourselves and others, supporting the collective organizing, advocacy and service-work efforts to dismantle racism systemically.
