About the event

Join LUNAR member Rachel Chang alongside Shira Kline of Lab/Shul for an uplifting night of song at The Neighborhood Sukkot SongCircle in Brooklyn! During Sukkot, a week-long festival honoring both the harvest season as well as the 40-year wandering period of the Jewish people, we build Sukkahs (temporary structures) in which we gather and dwell. On this night, we’re framing the sukkah – this temporary structure – as a sort of magical separate space, maybe a temporary glimpse into what Judaism can hold for us, the Judaism that we want to build and live in. This event is open to all, LUNAR community and beyond, and we want to specifically invite all of us, our community of Asian Jews, to come fill the space with our voices, our presences, our ancestors, stories, and songs. There is a practice of calling in our ancestors in the sukkah – what will it feel like for us to surround ourselves with our beautiful and expansive ancestry? Join us in Prospect Heights on October 3rd! More details here.
